CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – Indiana women's basketball couldn't overcome a slow start as it fell at Illinois on Saturday afternoon, 78-56, at State Farm Center.

- Illinois' (8-1) lead quickly grew in the first quarter, going up double digits by the media timeout as IU faced a 28-12 deficit.
- The Hoosiers (8-2) would go on to shoot just 28.8 percent from the floor in the first half, as went into the break down 45-23.
- It took over six minutes for IU to find the back of the net in the third, as it would be outscored 23-9 in the frame.
- Indiana showed life in the fourth quarter including a 12-0 run and posted a positive offensive performance, outscoring the Illini, 25-10, but it was far too late to attempt a comeback.
NOTABLE
- Ciezki scored a team-high 23 points for her 19th consecutive double-digit scoring game and her eighth performance of 20 or more points this season.
- Redshirt sophomore guard Lenée Beaumont added 15 points while junior forward Edessa Noyan added a season-high 11 points.
- The Hoosiers went 12-for-12 from the free throw line on the afternoon.
- Freshmen Nevaeh Caffey and Maya Makalusky led on the glass with six rebounds each.
