BLOOMINGTON, Ind. –––– Indiana Men's Tennis opened the weekend slate strong, taking down Dartmouth, 4-2, on Saturday afternoon at the IU Tennis Center.

Indiana would begin the day hot, winning their third straight doubles point. Sam Scherer and Matteo Antonesu would strike first, taking the win at No. 2 doubles, 6-2. Facundo Yunis and Braeden Gelletich would follow up with a win at No. 3 doubles, 6-3, to clinch the doubles point for the Hoosiers.

In singles play, Jip van Assendelft would earn a win at No. 2 singles, defeating Hikaru Takeda in two sets, 6-2, 6-4. Ben Pomeranets would put Indiana within one point of clinching the match with a win at No. 4 singles in three sets, 1-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Facundo Yunis would clinch the match victory for IU with a thrilling win over Carlos Guerrero Alvarez on No. 1 singles, 7-6 (7-5), 4-6, 7-6 (7-3).

With the win, Indiana moves to 3-0 on the season.

Indiana will be back in action on Sunday, Feb. 2, with a doubleheader against Brown and Toledo. The first match will begin at 11 a.m., followed by the second match at 4 p.m.
