ROSEMONT, Ill. – The Indiana Baseball team had three games selected for national television in 2025, as announced with the release of the conference's baseball and softball designations on Monday (Feb. 10) afternoon.
All three games will be played in Bloomington and will be carried on the Big Ten Network. IU's first national television selection comes against Big Ten newcomers, USC, on Sunday, March 30th. The following Tuesday, the Hoosiers will play local rival Louisville in a midweek contest at 6:00 p.m.
The final game of IU's series with Purdue, which featured a dramatic comeback win in 2024, will move to 4:00 p.m. (May 11) for a national audience on the Big Ten Network. The two teams played four times last season with IU winning the final three matchups. It will also be IU's final home regular season game of the campaign.
As part of the preseason baseball memo, the Big Ten also announced an official update to the conference's tournament format. The Big Ten Tournament will expand to 12 teams, featuring four pools of three teams each. All programs will play the two teams in their group in a round robin format.
The four group winners will advance to the semifinals on Saturday. The championship game will be played on Sunday, May 25th. Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Nebraska will again play host to the entire tournament.
IU enters its seventh season under head coach Jeff Mercer. He returns a talented lineup, led by All-American outfielder Devin Taylor and All-Big Ten shortstop Tyler Cerny. The Hoosiers reloaded a pitching staff with a number of versatile arms. First pitch of the 2025 season will come in Surprise, Arizona on February 14th against UNLV.
