Indiana vs. Michigan
Feb. 8, 2025
• The Indiana Men's Basketball team (14-10, 5-8 B1G) overturned a 16-point halftime deficit but couldn't find the finishing touches on a come-from-behind win on Saturday (Feb. 8) afternoon against #24/22 Michigan. The Wolverines won 70-67 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall.
• IU kept Michigan in check in the second half, outscoring them by 13 points. The Wolverines shot just 37.0% from the floor in the final 20 minutes and didn't make a single 3-point field goal.
• The Hoosiers went 50.0% from the floor offensively in the second half. Three different players played the entire 20 minutes. Sophomore forward Mackenzie Mgbako scored all 15 points in the second half.
• IU committed just seven turnovers in Saturday's contest. It was the third time this season (first since Jan. 26 vs. Maryland) that the Hoosiers had seven or fewer giveaways.
• Sophomore forward Mackenzie Mgbako scored 15 points on the afternoon, all of them coming after the halftime break. He also added 11 rebounds.
• Mgbako recorded the second double-double of his career. It was the first since doing so on the road at Illinois on Jan. 27, 2024.
• He scored in double figures for the fifth-straight game. He has scored at least 15 points in all five games, continuing the longest stretch of his career. It was his 40th career game scoring in double figures.
• Junior forward Malik Reneau had his best game since returning from injury last month. He scored 16 points, his highest output since putting up 16 against Minnesota on Dec. 9, 2024.
• This was the 27th time in his career, and the eighth this campaign, he's reached the 15-point plateau.
• Fifth-year senior guard Anthony Leal scored 12 points, reaching double figures for the first time this season. He last scored more than 10 points in a contest vs. Iowa (13) on Jan. 30, 2024.
• Fifth-year senior guard Trey Galloway scored nine points and had two rebounds. He started the second half and played all 20 minutes.
• Senior forward Luke Goode scored five points. He added three rebounds.
• Sixth-year senior center Oumar Ballo put up six points and recorded four rebounds.
• Freshman forward Bryson Tucker provided two points and one rebound.
• Redshirt sophomore guard Myles Rice scored two points and added one rebound and an assist.
• Up Next: The Hoosiers return to the road for the final time this month. IU heads to East Lansing to take on Michigan State at the Breslin Center on Tuesday (Feb. 11). First tip is set for 9:00 p.m. on Peacock.
