RALEIGH, N.C. – Indiana track and field concluded the first day of the Raleigh Relays at the Paul Derr Track Facility on Thursday (March 27) for the first outdoor meet of their season.
"We came here to race against high level competition in order to run times that will rank in our region and the Big 10, and I believe our Steeplers and 5k runners did that." said associate head coach Eric Heins.
"The marks they ran tonight will set them up for their next high-level competition at Wake Forest."
The day started with the Steeplechase, where Nolan Satterfield (8:55.94) and Cole Raymond (9:05.19) each ran career best times on the day.
Four Hoosiers set personal bests in the 5,000-meter run, including Abe Eckman (13:46.51) who ran the 11th fastest time in school history. Tony Provenzano (14:03.52), Dylon Nalley (14:09.59), and Brayden Henkle (14:16.32) also set personal bests in the event.
The Hoosiers will be back tomorrow for day two of the Raleigh Relays. They will also begin the two-day Battle on the Bayou at Bernie Moore Stadium.
