Three Hoosiers Named to MLB Spring Breakout Rosters

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – The MLB's Spring Breakout series will return in 2025, highlighting the best prospects in each organization. This is the second year of the games and will feature 16 contests across the Cactus (Arizona) and Grapefruit (Florida) Spring Training sites. The games will take place from March 13th-16th.
Three former Hoosiers were named to rosters by their respective clubs. Catcher Brock Tibbitts (Blue Jays) and right-handed pitchers Connor Foley (Diamondbacks) and Craig Yoho (Brewers) are eligible to feature in the games next week.
Tibbitts and Foley both played with the Hoosiers in 2024, helping the program to a second-straight NCAA Tournament appearance. Foley was a Second Team All-Big Ten selection before being drafted in the fifth round of the 2024 MLB Draft by Arizona. Tibbitts racked up 199 career hits in three seasons in Bloomington before being taken by Toronto in the 13th round.
Both of those players were teammates with Yoho on the 2023 squad that advance to the NCAA regional finals in Lexington. That club won 43 games, the most by any team in the Jeff Mercer era. Yoho was an eighth round pick of the Brewers in 2023 and has shot up through the organization. He was selected as the Co-Minor League Pitcher of the Year by Milwaukee last season.
Foley and Yoho are ranked among their organizations top-30 prospects by MLB Pipeline ahead of the season. Additional former IU players ranked in their respective farm systems include Luke Sinnard (Braves), Jack Perkins (Athletics) and Carter Mathison (Phillies).
