Indiana Falls to Wisconsin in Series Finale

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ––– Indiana dropped a tough game on Sunday afternoon at Goodman Softball Complex, losing to Wisconsin, 10-5.
The Hoosiers and Badgers were tied at 2-2 in the second inning before Wisconsin took the lead in the bottom of the inning and held on for the remainder of the game.
With the loss, Indiana's season record now stands at 28-12 and 7-7 in conference play.
WISCONSIN 10, INDIANA 5
KEY MOMENTS
• Indiana took the early 1-0 lead in the top of the first when Aly VanBrandt reached first on an error and Brianna Copeland got home to score.
• After a single through the right side and sacrifice fly in the bottom of the first, Wisconsin pulled ahead, 2-1.
• Alex Cooper tied the game on an RBI hit over to second in order to bring in Madalyn Strader to score and make it 2-2 in the top of the second frame.
• Wisconsin used home runs in the bottom of the second and third innings to pull ahead Danielle Lucey hit a 2-run shot and Emmy Wells hit a grand slam to put Wisconsin up 8-2 in the third.
• The Hoosiers cut into the lead in the top of the fourth on an RBI single from Cooper and RBI doubles from Taylor Minnick and Kinsey Mitchell to make it an 8-5 game.
• Emily Bojan hit a 2-run double in the bottom of the fourth and put the score at a 10-5 Wisconsin advantage.
NOTABLES
• Indiana outhit Wisconsin, 11-6.
• Three Hoosiers hit a double (Minnick, Mitchell and Strader).
• Strader was 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and two runs scored.
