Indiana Drops Regional Opener to Oklahoma State

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. –––– After leading for much of the game, No. 3 Seed Indiana fell to No. 2 Seed Oklahoma State, 11-6, on Friday night at Bogle Park.
Oklahoma State used a 7-run sixth inning to rally after trailing 6-4 through four innings.
Indiana will be back in action tomorrow for continued regional play with an elimination game and then a second game right after that should it win the first.
Indiana is now 33-19 on the season.

KEY MOMENTS
• Taylor Minnick got the Indiana offense rolling immediately with a two-run bomb over the right field wall in the second at bat of the game, scoring her and Brianna Copeland to give Indiana a 2-0 lead.
• Oklahoma State answered with a two-run homer of their own when Karli Godwin went yard to dead center field to tie the game at 2-2.
• Minnick cleared the right field fence again in the top of the third inning, hitting a solo shot to give Indiana the lead back, 3-2.
• With two runners on, Melina Wilkison got in on the home run fun with a three-run homer to left center to extend Indiana's lead to 6-2.
• Oklahoma State cut into the lead when Godwin hit her second home run of the day, launching another two-run shot to center field which put the game at 6-4.
• In the bottom of the sixth inning, Oklahoma State rallied using a combination of RBI singles, errors, and walks to chart seven runs in the frame and go up 11-6.
NOTABLES
• With Taylor Minnick's two home runs, she is now the program's all-time leader in home runs with 45.
• Minnick's two home runs put her at 18 on the season.
• Wilkison's home run was her seventh in 2025.
• This was the first meeting between Indiana and Oklahoma State since 2009.

Indiana will take on the loser of No. 4 Seed Saint Louis and No. 1 Seed Arkansas tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. (ET)/2:30 p.m. (CT) for an elimination game. Should the Hoosiers win that, they will play again at 6:00 p.m. (ET)/5:00 p.m. (CT) for another elimination game that night.
