ABILENE, Texas. – Three-hit days from four separate Hoosiers helped spell the offense on Saturday (May 3) afternoon as the Indiana Baseball team (26-21, 12-12 B1G) picked up a 14-5 victory over Abilene Christian at Crutcher Scott Field. IU scored two runs in the first inning and led the entire way.
A seven-run fifth inning, that featured back-to-back home runs from redshirt sophomore outfielder Korbyn Dickerson and freshman first baseman Jake Hanley, helped put the game to bed early on. The top six hitters in the IU order combined to go 16-30 (.533) with 11 RBIs.
A trio of defensive errors held right-handed starter Ben Grable (4.2 IP, 5 R/3 ER, 4 K) in the game longer than necessary. He was relieved by redshirt junior southpaw Grant Holderfield (W, 3-0) and redshirt senior righty Gavin Seebold (SV, 2) – who recorded the final 13 outs.
Dickerson had four RBIs on the day – taking his season tally to 70. He's just the sixth IU player to record 70 RBIs in a season and the first since Alex Dickerson (75 – 2010) to do so. Dickerson also moves up to 18 home runs and 70 hits on the campaign.
IU picks up its second series win in the last three tries and will go for the sweep tomorrow afternoon (May 4) at 1:05 PM ET/12:05 PM CT). The Hoosiers have two sweeps (Ohio State, Michigan State) this season but are looking for the first on the road this year. IU's last road sweep came at Baylor in 2024.

He now has 70 RBIs on the season, becoming the first IU player to hit that mark in 15 years (Alex Dickerson, 2010 – 75). The Dickersons' are the only two Hoosiers this century to have at least 18 home runs and 70 RBIs in a single season.
• Four different IU players (Moore, Taylor, Dickerson and Denny) had three-hit days on Saturday. It's the first time that there have been four Hoosiers in the same game with at least three hits each since the second game of a doubleheader at Penn State on March 7th (Taylor, Hanley, Malamazian, Cerny).
• The Hoosiers stole seven bases on Saturday afternoon. It's the most in a game by an IU team since taking eight bags in a win over Butler on February 28, 2023. Freshman shortstop Cooper Malamazian had two steals while five other IU players had one.
• IU has four different true freshmen with at least 30 hits this season. Jake Hanley leads the way with 64 but Cooper Malamazian (46), Will Moore (35) and Hogan Denny (31) have all eclipsed the mark now as well. The Hoosiers have more hits from true freshmen (185) than any other Power 4 school in the country.
• Junior outfielder Devin Taylor scored three times on Saturday. In his career, he has 184 runs scored. That number moves him into eighth in program history. He's 16 away from becoming the sixth player with 200 runs at IU.
