Hagen, Garcia Prado and Thompson Named to Big Ten’s Preseason Players to Watch List

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ––– The Big Ten Conference announced its preseason Players to Watch on Wednesday afternoon ahead of the field hockey season's start this weekend.
Indiana sophomore Mijntje Hagen, junior Inés Garcia Prado and senior Emma Thompson were all selected to the conference's honorees.
Hagen had a very successful freshman season in 2024, scoring five goals and charting two assists.
Garcia Prado led the Hoosiers in scoring last year, totaling eight goals to go along with two assists. Her strong play landed her All-Big Ten First Team recognition along with being First Team All-Region by the NFHCA.
Thompson has served as the anchor to Indiana's backline on defense for her entire career. She had one assist in the 2024 campaign.
Indiana will open the 2025 season on Saturday, Aug. 30 at 1 p.m. against No. 8 Boston College in Maine.
