Ameia Sorey Awarded Big Ten Freshman of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana women's tennis freshman Ameia Sorey was named Big Ten freshman of the week after her college debut at the 2025 Debbie Southern Furman Fall Classic.
Sorey, a native of Miami, Fla., notched four wins overall (singles/doubles) throughout the weekend long tournament. She won two singles matches against Penn State's Olivia Droner (6-2,6-3) and Alabama's Addison Bowman (6-3,6-3). Paired with Hi'ilani Williams in doubles action, she defeated duos from South Carolina (6-2) and Wake Forest (6-4).
Sorey is the first Hoosier to win the award since it was inaugurated in Spring of 2025.
