BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Indiana women's soccer finished in a 2-2 tie against No. 24 Xavier on Thursday, Sept. 4^th at Bill Armstrong Stadium. After two straight losses, the Hoosiers found their footing as Freshman defender Grace Hamm lead the offense in their first ranked match of the season.

With the tie, the Hoosiers now have a 2-2-1 record in the early season.

KEY MOMENTS

In the 20th minute Sophomore midfielder Maggie Ledwith played the ball to Hamm in the box. Hamm found the back of the net, giving Indiana the 1-0 lead.
Elin Hansson scored in the 23^rd minute to tie the game at 1-1.
Xavier had multiple shot attempts, but Senior goalkeeper Dani Jacobson made three saves through the half to go into the break tied at one.
Xavier would score in the 61^st minute to go up 2-1 in the second half.
In the 63^rd minute Hamm converted her second goal of the game from a penalty kick to tie the game back up at 2-2.
Xavier had multiple opportunities to score, but Graduate goalkeeper Sally Rainey held her ground as she recorded three saves to finish the game in a draw.

NOTABLE

The Hoosiers' two goals came from a total of three shots in the game.
Jacobson and Rainey each had three saves.
Hamm's two goals were the first of her career.
Hamm is the first freshman since Layla Sirdah (09/08/24 vs. Lawrence; 3) to score multiple goals in a game.
IU has now scored two goals this season off penalty shots.
