Aird Records 100th Career Victory at Indiana

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – With an emphatic sweep over SEMO on Thursday (Sept. 4) evening at Wilkinson Hall, eighth-year head coach Steve Aird became the fourth coach in program history to record 100 wins with the Indiana volleyball team. It was his seventh win in eight tries in home openers during his time in Bloomington.
When he arrived at IU in 2018, Aird inherited a team coming off a one-win Big Ten season. Over the course of his tenure, he has quietly built the program into a competitive force in one of the nation's deepest conferences. Since 2022, the Hoosiers have a 55-43 record and a 29-13 clip inside the friendly confines of Wilkinson Hall.
Headlined by seniors Avry Tatum and Candela Alonso-Corcelles, Aird has one of his deepest and most complete times since becoming a college head coach in 2014. The Hoosiers are off to a 3-0 start for the third-straight season and are chasing the program's first NCAA Tournament bid since 2010.
IU will finish out its first home weekend on Friday (Sept. 5) against Northern Kentucky (10 a.m.) and Western Michigan (7 p.m.). The first Big Ten home contest at Wilkinson Hall comes on Saturday, Sept. 27 against the Washington Huskies.
