Hoosiers Win First Match of Doubleheader

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ––– The Indiana men's tennis team returned to action today, winning 4-1 against the Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders in the first match of a doubleheader at the IU Tennis Center.
Indiana continued this season's doubles momentum, taking the doubles point by way of wins from Jip van Assendelft/Sam Landau and Michael Andre/Matteo Antonescu. The doubles win today improved Indiana to 4-1 in doubles points this season.
In the singles competition, Michael Andre got the first point in a 6-1, 6-3 straight-set win over Jonasz Dziopak. Braeden Gelletich and Ben Pomeranets clinched the win for Indiana by winning both their matches in three sets to seal the 4-1 win for Indiana. Facundo Yunis was ahead 4-2 in the third set, while Deacon Thomas had just forced a third set before both games went unfinished.
Indiana doesn't have to wait long for its next match, as the team will host Toledo in the second match of a doubleheader at 5 p.m.
