BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – For the second time in three years, in-state rivals Purdue and Indiana will meet for a spring volleyball scrimmage at a neutral site location in central Indiana. The two foes will play on Sunday, April 19th at 2 p.m. at the Fishers Event Center. The contest will proceed an Indy Ignite match that evening.
Both teams are coming off a deep journey into the NCAA Tournament. IU went to the regional semifinals before falling to No. 1 Texas. Purdue advanced to the regional finals but couldn't get past No. 1-seed Pittsburgh and AVCA Player of the Year, Olivia Babcock. The two sides combined for 52 wins and played a pair of competitive four-set matches in the regular season.
A ticket to the Indy Ignite match will get fans access to the spring scrimmage, a free fan fest with the college athletes and the professional match. The scrimmage will begin at 2 p.m. and be followed by an autograph session with IU and Purdue athletes at 4:30 p.m. The Indy Ignite and Dallas Pulse will play their match at 6 p.m.
Head coach Steve Aird returns a deep and veteran lineup for the 2026 campaign. Returning All-Big Ten players in outside hitter Jaidyn Jager and setter Teodora Krickovic help lead a well-balanced offense for the Hoosiers. IU will carry 17 players in the spring with most expected to see action in the scrimmage.
