Balanced Attack Leads No. 12 Indiana Past No. 20 SJSU

SAN JOSE, Calif. – With nine different players getting on the scoresheet, No. 12 Indiana got past No. 20 San Jose State at SRAC on Friday afternoon, 14-12, in its first MPSF win of the season.

KEY MOMENTS
- In a high scoring first half, the Spartans got out to a 2-0 lead early before Indiana's Grace Klingler and Gwenyth Le could tie the game up with 4:39 to go. Senior Savannah Batchelor combined with Klingler for back-to-back goals to keep the game knotted at 4-all.
- SJSU was able to go up one, 5-4, at the end of the first as freshman Kylie Williams turned it on with a pair of goals to give Indiana (15-5, 1-2 MPSF) its first lead, 6-5, with 5:35 to go in the second.
- With the lead going back-and-forth before the half, IU had scoring opportunities from junior Olivia Harris and senior Louisa Downes but the game would be at an 8-8 draw at the break.
- The third would be highlighted by each team's defense, allowing just two goals on each side and keeping the game in a 10-all tie headed into the fourth. Le and freshman Audrina Kang got on the board for Indiana in the frame.
- Batchelor's second goal of the day gave IU a lead with 6:12 to go in the fourth and one it wouldn't relinquish as it outscored the Spartans, 4-2, in the final period. A SJSU turnover led to. Klingler goal to go up two with 4:42 to left.
- Nine different Hoosiers scored goals with Klingler leading the way with a hat trick. It's her fifth hat trick of the season. She also finished with six total points as she led with three assists.
- Three Hoosiers scored two goals with Williams, Le and Batchelor all notching a pair.
- Williams added a team-high three drawn exclusions.
- Batchelor and Le each finished with four points as she had two assists.
- Senior Nicole Tyner and Le each had three steals.
