ATLANTA – Indiana has four opportunities to score big and put a bow on its week at the 2026 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships Saturday (March 21) night inside the McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta.
Five Hoosiers clinched points from Saturday's final morning, sending three of those to championship finals. Freshmen Liberty Clark and Alex Shackell and junior Miranda Grana will look to maximize their scoring with second swims in the final session of the week, kicking off at 6 p.m. ET. Indiana ranked No. 7 in the team standings coming into the day.
Shackell will swim in lane four of the 200-yard butterfly championship final as the top qualifier with a morning time of 1:51.68. The stage is set for a rematch of the Big Ten championship final, in which both Shackell and Michigan junior Hannah Bellard both went under the previous Big Ten record. Bellard won that matchup but placed second in Saturday morning's swims. Shackell is the lone freshman in the final.
Like Shackell, Clark clinched her third championship final of the week in the 100-yard freestyle having already earned silver in the 200 free and sixth in the 50 free, collecting program and age group records in the process. Clark placed fifth in the morning with a 46.54, short of her 46.22 that won the Big Ten title last month.
Grana reached the final of the 200-yard backstroke with a morning 1:50.18. Her best time is a 1:48.73, set at the NCAA Championships a year ago. Senior Mya DeWitt earned a special moment in the event, setting a personal best (1:51.96) by 1.34 seconds and collecting points as the No. 15 finisher in the final race of her collegiate career.
Junior Ella Roselli just missed out on the championship final of the platform diving competition, placing ninth in the prelim with a score of 291.70. Roselli fought back from a 36.80-point first-round dive to score important points.
To close the night, Indiana has the chance to better the Big Ten record it has improved on all spring in the 400-yard freestyle relay. IU's 3:07.72 from freshmen Clark, Shackell, senior Kristina Paegle and freshman Grace Hoeper won the Big Ten title in February and set the No. 3 time in the country.
