EVANSTON, Ill. –The No. 69 ranked Indiana women's tennis team (11-5, 1-3 B1G) was unable to push past Northwestern (9-6,2-2 B1G) on Saturday at the Vandy Christie Tennis Center in Evanston, Ill.

- The contest started successful early when junior Chase Boyer and Senior Nicole Teodosescu found doubles play success at court No. 3, defeating their Northwestern opponent 6-2. After the Wildcats secured doubles No. 2, Freshman duo Alessandra Teodosescu and Hi'ilani Williams helped Indiana come back at No. 1 doubles (6-4) to give it the 1-0 edge.
- The cream and crimson fought hard in singles play to maintain their lead. A. Teodosescu clinched a win at singles No. 2 (6-3,6-0) early to continue the advantage. Subsequently, Williams and N. Teodosescu fell in their matches at singles No. 5 (3-6,1-6) and No. 4 (2-6,6-7), respectively, to add points for Northwestern.
- Three singles matches went to three sets, including sophomore Nicole Sifuentes at court six, who fell in the second set and clawed back to secure the point for the Hoosiers in set three after it reached a conclusion off tie-breaker points (6-4,4-6, 7-6).
- At singles No.1, freshman Ameia Sorey took #87 ranked Margot Phanthala to a third set. After she won set number one, she needed set number three to secure the match point. It would be a back-and-forth net battle until Phanthala won the tie-breaker set, (7-5, 3-6, 7-6 (11-9)
- The contest went to Northwestern when IU fell at singles No.3 and No. 1, with the Hoosiers falling 3-4.
