Troutt Leads Hoosiers Past Gophers

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. ––– Sophomore Ella Trout faced just three batters over the minimum and the Indiana offense had runners on base in all six innings to even its series with Minnesota in a 5-0 victory on Saturday (March 7).
The win evens the series with the Golden Gophers and sends Indiana's season record to 17-5 and 1-1 in the Big Ten.

KEY MOMENTS
• Ellie Goins accounted for the first two runs of the game with sacrifice flies in the second and third innings.
• A leadoff double by Josie Bird in the second inning was followed by a groundout to move a pinch runner to third. Goins then hit a sacrifice fly to left field.
• In the third inning, Alex Cooper walked before a pair of Minnesota errors loaded the bases. Goins fly ball to centerfield scored the run.
• Goins first hit of the game put runners on first and third with one out before an error by the Minnesota defense allowed a run to score.
