Matteo Antonescu Awarded Big Ten Sportsmanship Award

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. –––– The Big Ten announced today that Indiana's Matteo Antonescu has been awarded the sportsmanship award for the 2025-26 season.
The sophomore from Mountain View, Calif. has made the biggest impact at doubles this season with graduate teammate Michael Andre. The duo has been Indiana's best in doubles this season, earning a dual record of 12-3, including a 7-1 record in the Big Ten and a 5-1 record at No. 1 doubles.
Antonescu and Andre are currently ranked No. 33 by the ITA. Notably, the duo is 3-0 against ranked teams, defeating No. 1 Nikita Filin and Brandon Carpico from Ohio State (Mar. 20), No. 31 Taym Alazmeh and Danial Rakhmatullayev from Michigan State (April 17), and No. 52 Max Dahlin and Pierce Shaya (April 19).
In singles, Antonescu has a 5-3 overall record so far this season.
