BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Four members of the Indiana men's soccer team received preseason praise Tuesday (Aug. 18), as the Big Ten announced its Players to Watch list, and Top Drawer Soccer unveiled its preseason Top 100 player rankings.
Transfer forward Stephane Njike and returners Josh Maher and Collins Oduro featured in the Big Ten watch list. The conference also announced its preseason coaches poll, with Indiana landing at No. 3 behind reigning NCAA Champion Washington and defending Big Ten Champion Maryland.
Njike ranked No. 6 on the Top Drawer Soccer Top 100 list a day after seeing his name in the Top Drawer Soccer first-team Best XI. Oduro came in at No. 57, an improvement from his 2025 postseason ranking by 27 places (No. 84). Transfer forward Oliver Moller-Jensen ranked No. 85.
Njike and Moller-Jensen highlight Indiana's eight-player transfer class, which Top Drawer Soccer ranked No. 1 nationally in June. The two players combined for 13 goals and 13 assists last season at their previous stops. This summer, they joined forces in USL League Two, helping the Flint City Bucks reach the cup final.
Maher and Oduro represent IU's foundation of returning players. Maher will serve as a co-captain in his third year, following the example set by brothers Jack (2019) and Joey (2023). Oduro is Indiana's most productive returner to date, recording 12 goals and 13 assists over the previous three seasons.
Indiana kicks off its 2026 season Thursday (Aug. 20) at 8 p.m. ET, hosting Notre Dame on Jerry Yeagley Field at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
