Made her collegiate debut at the Cardinal Classic, finishing t-28th with a total of 233 (82-78-73) … the 73 on the final day proved to be her season low … finished t-76th at the Lady Puerto Rico Classic … ended the Westbrook invitational at t-83rd but but up her best three-round score of the season at 229 (74-77-78).

Tanaka is a native of Glenview, Illinois and Glenbrook South High School, where she posted a scoring average of 74 her senior year ... placed 10th at the Illinois State Championship after a fifth-place finish at regionals and a third-place finish at sectionals ... also won the Rockford Guilford Invitational with a 68 and was a 4-time all-conference selection while helping her team to a pair of state championship appearances ... her junior golf career has featured back-to-back Illinois Junior Golf Association Player of the Year and a top 10 finish at the USGA US Girls Junior Qualifier ... also finished 15th at the AJGA Open at Otter Creek and participated in the IMG Junior World Championship ... daughter of Ray and Nhan Tanaka ... has one brother, Brendan.
