SENIOR (2020-1): Won five singles matches on the season playing at the No. 4 and No. 5 position…won three doubles matches…Michelle won 61 singles wins and 48 doubles wins for a total of 109 wins in her Hoosier career...Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
2019-20: Led the Hoosiers with 16 singles wins and a 16-8 overall record in singles…11-2 in dual match singles playing at the No. 4 and No. 5 positions…won 10 of her last 11 singles matches…teamed up with Lexi Kubas to go 11-4 in doubles, including 3-3 in dual matches at the No. 3 doubles position…earned Scholastic Achievement award for academic excellence.
SOPHOMORE (2018): McKamey posted an overall singles record of 21-16 on the season and went 6-5 in Big Ten singles matches…won eight doubles matches on the season…Named the Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree for Indiana.
FRESHMAN (2017): McKamey posted an overall singles record of 19-13 in her first season in Bloomington…McKamey was a regular piece in the Indiana lineup as she played in 22 of the 28 dual matches this season…In doubles McKamey played with junior Madison Appel for most of the season and the duo went 14-8 overall and 11-5 in dual matches…McKamey had a stretch in the season where she won 10 straight singles including wins of Cincinnati, Xavier and Marquette…McKamey won Big Ten matches against Iowa and Rutgers
PREP: McKamey, a native of Paducah, Ky., played high school tennis at McCracken County High School. She made a splash early in her high school career as the 2014 KHSAA State Singles Champion in her freshman season. In her sophomore season, she reached the final four at the state tournament and finished runner-up in her junior year. McKamey was a three-time All-State honoree and in her sophomore and junior seasons helped her team win the KHSAA State Championship. She earned a No. 1 USTA Kentucky ranking and consistently was top-20 southern section ranking and top-100 national ranking on tennisrecruting.net.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Roy and Sherry McKamey...father is a retired basketball coach and mother played basketball in high school and holds several records...born August 20, 1998...major is Community Health and Pre-Optometry.
