Played in 69 career games ... scored in double figures on 12 occasions ... career-best scoring output at Pitt was 20 points against NC State in 2014 ... posted a 2:1 assist-to-turnover ratio with 154 assists and 77 turnovers ... shot 35.7 percent from the 3-point line in his two years ... had microfracture surgery on his left knee on May 6, 2015.
Sophomore (2014-15 - at Pittsburgh)
Appeared in all 34 games and was in the starting lineup four times ... he averaged 5.9 points, 1.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game ... he scored a season-high 16 points and dished out a career-high eight assists when the Panthers played at Indiana in the Big Ten ACC Challenge ... he also made a driving layup to force overtime and had 15 points against Boston College ... he tallied a 16-point effort against Duquesne and notched a career-high four rebounds in that game ... he chipped in 12 points against Florida State in the ACC Tournament ... during the regular season he registered had eight points, including two highlight reel dunks against Duke ... named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.
Freshman (2013-14 - at Pittsburgh)
During his freshman year, He averaged 4.6 points, 1.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists ... he averaged 6.4 points in 19.5 minutes played per game over the last two games of the season ... he averaged 16.7 minutes per game in ACC play ... made 7-of-8 FG attempts, including all five of his three-pointers against NC State on March 3 ... he scored eight points (3-6 FG), hit 2-3 3- pointers in 24 minutes of NCAA Tournament game vs. Florida. He tied a school record for most consecutive 3-pointers made with eight from March 1-March 8 (2 at Notre Dame, 5 vs. NC State, at Clemson). Had10 points (4-6 FG) with five assists in 24 minutes vs. Wake Forest. He also hit a game-tying jumper at the buzzer to send a game into overtime at Clemson ... named to the ACC Academic Honor Roll.

A 2013 graduate of Word of God Christian Academy in Raleigh, N.C. where he played for head coach Quentin Jackson ... also played for the D One Sports Academy in North Carolina, the same two programs that produced current NBA guard John Wall ... led Word of God Academy to a NCISAA Class 1A state championship and a 25-2 overall record as a senior ... ranked as the nation's No. 70 recruit and the No. 21 point guard by Scout.com ... born April 17, 1994 ... he is the son of Reggie and Tela Newkirk.
