2016-17 (Redshirt Freshman – 165 lbs.)
Earned third-place at the Alma Open (1/21) … also took a fourth-place finish at the Greyhound Open (2/5) … opened the year with his first career appearance in the dual meet lineup, winning a 4-0 decision against Jesse Lyga (San Francisco State, 11/3) … represented the Hoosiers at the Navy Classic (11/19), aiding the team championship win with a major decision over A.J. Alford (Navy) … entered the Cleveland State Open (12/17) … entered the top three on the Alma Open (1/21) podium, rebounding from a second round loss to win his last four matches with bonus points … earned three consecutive technical falls, conceding just two points, on his way to the consolation final … won the third place match by major decision over Clayton Davidson (Ohio Northern) … ended the season with a fourth-place finish in the 174 lbs. bracket at the Greyhound Open (2/5) … started the open with a first period pin (1:39), and then a decision win to enter the semifinals.

Title winner at the Alma Open ... finished runner-up at the Greyhound Open ... ascended the podium with an eighth-place finish at the Michigan State Open (freshman/sophomore division) ... compiled a 12-10 record as an unattached competitor, including a major decision and a technical fall … went 0-2 at the Eastern Michigan Open (11/7) … took eighth-place at the MSU Open (11/15), posting a 4-3 tournament record with a tech fall … lost the opening match, but battled back with four consecutive wins in the wrestle-backs … lost both matches at the Cleveland State Open (12/12) … went 0-2 at Midlands (12/29) … hoisted the crown at the Alma Open (1/23) for his first collegiate tournament win, winning his final three matches by decision … opened the Greyhound Open (2/6) with a major decision win before making a run all the way to the championship bout, where he dropped a 9-4 decision.
