Question:
A sport has recruited a transfer student from another four-year institution. The transfer student plans on coming to Bloomington this summer to attend summer school and workout in the weight room. Can he or she work at an IU sports camp or clinic this summer to earn a little extra money?
Answer:
NO, a 4-year college SA who has received written permission to discuss transferring with another NCAA institution is considered a senior prospect pursuant to NCAA recruiting regulations. Thus, in sports other than FB, he or she may not be employed by any D-1 institution's summer camp (either on a salaried or volunteer basis) if he or she is being recruited by that institution or if he or she was a high school, prep school or JC athletics award winner.
