Compliance Question Of The Week
Question #1: Can Sally Soccer, a transfer from a four-year college, work the IU Soccer Camp this summer since she will be on a full-ride, she has been officially accepted to IU and she is enrolled in and is taking a full load of summer school courses?
Question #2: She would also like to work out in our weightroom to stay in shape, is that permissible as well?
Answer #1: No, a 4-year transfer who has received written permission to discuss transferring is considered a prospect per Bylaw 13.1.1.3. That person remains a prospect per 13.02.10 until she officially registers and enrolls in a minimum full-time program of studies and attends classes in any term at Indiana University druing our regular academic year (excluding summer); or she participates in a regular squad practice or competition at IU that occurs before the beginning of any term.
Answer #2: No, she may not workout in our weight room because she has not signed an NLI (unsigned prospects may not participate in such activities unless that facility is open to the general public - s 7/14/93-(a)).
