Compliance Question Of The Week
For all sports except Field Hockey, Football and Soccer: We are currently in a DEAD period (Monday, November 11 through Thursday, November 14).
This means it is NOT permissible to make in-person, on- or off-campus, recruiting contacts or evaluations. A prospect may NOT make an official or unofficial visit to campus. We may NOT provide a prospect with a comp admit to an IU athletics event. A coach may NOT visit a prospect's school and may NOT serve as a speaker or attend a meeting or banquet at which prospects attend.
A coach MAY continue to write, email or phone prospects. Remember for those sports involved in the DEAD period, you are permitted unlimited calls on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week. Otherwise, you are limited to the one call per week rule.
Finally, remember, it is NOT permissible to announce that a prospect has signed an NLI with Indiana until Donna Walker has received the NLI and has confirmed that is indeed valid (has all the requisite signatures, correct birthdates and signing dates, etc.).
