Compliance Question Of The Week
Compliance Question Of The Week
Question:
Clarification instead of a QOTW
(since the May ICN went to print BEFORE the Board of Directors voted in the new legislation.)
On questions 4 and 13 (in the May ICN), the answers are wrong since now all electronically transmitted correspondence is considered general (written) correspondence and all electronically transmitted direct human interaction voice exchange shall now be considered telephone calls.
This is good and bad news.
The good news: IM (instant messaging) and chat room sessions are now general correspondence and it doesn't matter if you "prearrange" a time to IM or chat OR if you initiate the session.
The bad news (unless the NCAA issues an interpretation that changes the new rule): you can only IM with juniors (as of September 1 of their junior year) and seniors (you can no longer IM with a sophomore or freshman who initiates the IM session).
