Compliance Question Of The Week
Question:
If IU student-athletes are participating in the National Girls and Women in Sports Day (this Sunday at Noon in Assembly Hall prior to the WBB game versus Michigan State) at team interactive displays/booths (e.g. putting green), is their participation considered a promotional activity?
Answer:
YES!!! Remember all student-athletes who participate in promotional activities (either at institutional or noninstitutional events) MUST receive preapproval for their participation through the compliance office. Coaches of teams who are participating in the National Girls and Women in Sports Day events please submit your promotional activity preapproval form into the compliance office as soon as possible and no later than Friday, January 28, 2005. We don't need actual signatures from the student-athletes since it is an institutional activity, just the form and a list of team members who are participating.
