Question: Are there any circumstances when it would be permissible for the institution (e.g., a coach) to arrange for summer housing for a prospect?
Answer:
It is permissible for an institution to arrange off-campus summer housing for a prospective student-athlete who is receiving athletically related financial aid to attend the institution's summer term prior to his or her initial full-time enrollment. [OI 01/12/05] Otherwise, it is NOT permissible to arrange for summer housing for prospects who come to town for a few days/weeks/months prior to starting practice (for the fall sports) or classes (for all other sports) in August at IU.
