Question:
Can IU Athletics produce a second/supplemental media guide (e.g., spring prospectus, spring season media guide, spring football practice guide, or postseason media guide) and provide it to prospects? What if the prospect didn't receive the sport's original media guide? What if there has been a coaching staff change in a sport since the original media guide was produced and sent out?
Answer:
No (to all questions), an institution may not produce a separate media guide that is intended to supplement the one recruiting brochure or media guide that may be produced and provided to prospects. Such supplemental information (e.g., historical information, records) may be posted on an institution's Web site and may be printed in black and white, and provided to the media. An institution may produce additional media publications for separate purposes (e.g., postseason media guide, spring football practice guide), provided the additional publications are not provided to prospects.
