Compliance Question Of The Week
Question:
Are Big Ten travel squad limits applicable to all regular season competition?
Answer:
Yes, the Big Ten travel squad limits for your sport apply to all regular season competition, including competition during your championship and nonchampionship segment, exhibition games, scrimmages, Conference championships and Conference postseason tournaments. For example, the Big Ten travel squad limits apply to spring competition for all fall sports.
Please remember to submit the travel and missed class time form to the compliance office each time your team travels to away-from-home competition. Additionally, if your team is competing at home and will miss class according to IU's missed class time policy, a missed class time form must also be submitted.
All travel squad limits for regular season and Conference Championships/Conference Postseason Tournaments can be found on pages 145-146 of the 2004-05 Big Ten Conference Handbook.
