Question:
Can I advertise my camp and clinic at sporting events where prospects are competing?
Answer:
Sadly, recent interps and clarifications have caused this answer to be "no", which is too bad, because what better way to advertise? Please look at the following info, direct from the NCAA:
13.4.4.1.2 Summer-Camp Advertisements.
Advertisements for an institution's summer camp or clinic are permissible if placed in a periodical (other than a high school, two-year college or nonscholastic game program) that includes a camp directory that meets the following requirements:
(a) The size (not to exceed one-half page) and format of such advertisements must be identical; and
(b) The camp directory must include multiple listings of summer camps on each page (at least two summer-camp advertisements of the same size must appear on each page).

Institutional Summer Camp Advertisement on Billboard at High School Stadium
An institution may not advertise its summer camp or clinic on a billboard located at a high school stadium.

Recruiting Advertisements at Athletics Competitions Involving Prospective Student-Athletes
An institution may not arrange for advertisements, including athletics camp and clinic advertisements, in facilities or publications related to any competition in which prospective student-athletes participate. Accordingly, it is not permissible to place a banner promoting the institution's athletics camp or clinic at a high school competition.
The prohibition against advertising in conjunction with prospective student-athletes' competition includes not only the purchase of advertising for recruiting purposes, but also the arrangement of advertising for athletics recruiting purposes. Therefore, it is not permissible for an institution to make athletics camp or clinic brochures available at high school athletics competitions even if the institution does not pay a fee for the opportunity to place its materials in the venue.

So, please do not leave camp brochures at tournaments, meets or games where prospects are playing (for these purposes, "high school" equates to "club or AAU") - it will be interpreted as a violation of this rule. Sorry.
And please, absolutely, remember that VERY piece of advertising for your camp (paper, online, whatever) MUST have the following statement clearly visible, regardless of what type of camp it is, who it's for, or how obvious it is that anyone can come: "CAMP IS OPEN TO ALL AND ANY ENTRANTS". Thank you. All camp promotional materials (and the camp itself) must be preapproved by the compliance office.
