Compliance Question Of The Week
Compliance Question Of The Week
Question:
So, what can we do this summer with our current student-athletes and our incoming prospects?
Answer:
The answer is multi-faceted, squared, halved and then quadrupled. And add one.
1. Current (returning) student-athletes can stay in town and workout voluntarily with strength and conditioning coaches. Individual and Safety Exception sports can have countable coaches present.
2. ALL individuals here this summer in ANY capacity should be known to the coaching staff and compliance office.
3. Incoming Prospects can work out in Football and Basketball if they have signed an NLI, or for a walk-on, if they are enrolled in summer school. Same rules apply to the prospects as to returners - strength and conditioning coach only can be present, and an athletic trainer. No countable coaches are administrative staff. Everything always is voluntary.
4. Incoming Prospects in other sports who have signed NLI's can work out in our facilities in the PRESENCE of a Strength and Conditioning coach but may not be "coached" by such individuals. New this year: individuals in other sports who are WALK-ONS IN SUMMER SCHOOL may now also get the same benefit as NLI signers in terms of using our facilities. Still can't be coached though - unless safety exception exists.
Other specifications may apply.
