Compliance Question Of The Week
Question 1:
When can I begin to mail the permissible recruiting materials (Bylaw 13.4.1.1) to the Juniors?
Answer 1:
For the majority of sports here (not MBK) the first date we can "provide" stuff is September 1st. Last couple of years, there's been a weekend involved, but for this year, with September one begin next Tuesday, it's pretty fair to say that you can give your stuff to Cheryl on Monday 31st August with no chance of it begin delivered before the first. So have at it. Don't give her stuff till then. Of course, if you are REALLY into someone, man, you can also e-mail them at 12:00:01 am Tuesday 1st too - but remember that if you are doing that, the recipient should be on the same time (I.e. Eastern Time) and not "out west". If they live central, you can't e-mail till after 1 am and so on and so forth, forever and ever.
Question 2:
Who can coach my team this year?
Answer 2:
Every year at this time, there's a lot of excitement about coaching the team and working with the student-athletes. Seems like folks come out of the woodwork to offer their wisdom and never-before-seen coaching ideas and so the hope is that anyone/everyone can join the staff. Not so. Only the designated number of countable coaches can coach your student-athletes...plus any approved (by us) student-coaches, Volunteer coaches (not in FB or BKB) and Grad Assistant Coaches (Football and Rowing ONLY!). No one else gets "Grad Assistant" coaches and such. Please check with us on the roles of your "little helpers" so we can stay on the right side of the "who the heck is that?" line.
Question 3:
Can our Volunteer coach get into a Football (or MBK) game on the pass list with an official visitor?
Answer 3:
No. Sorry. Can't happen.
Question 4:
Can we pay for out-of-season expenses associated with skill instruction / team building activity, etc.
Answer 4:
For the most part no for Ropes Courses, Paintball etc. but often yes for outside consultants in Yoga, Pilates, Karate, etc. Check with us first and we'll help you out. And probably you might check your budget can handle it.
