Question:
Thanksgiving break is next week. Can we keep our team here? Pay for all their expenses? Practice all day long (if only to work off the calories of a large Turkey Day meal)?
Answer:
If your sport is in-season during the vacation period, you are permitted to remain here on campus, cover the per diem and housing expenses for your student-athletes who are required to be here, and may practice with some relaxation (though not all!) of the normal CARA limits beginning Wednesday, November 24th through Sunday, November 28th. If your sport is out-of-season during this period, well....tough luck. Voluntary activity only, with no sport coaches present, and no expenses.
Your required days here must be counted towards your season-limit.
Same will apply for the upcoming holiday break between semesters!
