Indiana University Athletics
Student Athletic Board Roster
2016-17 Student Athletic Board Directors
| Natalie Alderman, President • Hometown: Peoria, Ill. • Major: Sports Marketing & Management • Advice you’d give for people considering joining SAB: Do it! And don’t be intimidated by older members. We’re a very close group, but one of our favorite things is welcoming new people into that group. We’re definitely not just an organization that attends athletics events. I’ve met some of my best friends through SAB. • Things people don’t know about SAB: I don’t think people realize how easy it is to get involved. People see us getting to do some pretty awesome things but they don’t realize that they’re just one email away from being a mass member. • Fun Fact about yourself: I can palm a basketball. • Favorite Athlete: OG Anunoby |
|
| Maggie Magnotta, Vice President of Administration • Hometown: Villanova, PA • Major: Sports Marketing & Management • Favorite SAB Memory: Getting the change to go to both the Pinstripe Bowl and Swet Sixteen this past year! • Things people don’t know about SAB: We have a house on Fee Lane that we use for meetings and to hangout before and after events! • Fun Fact about yourself: For as much as I enjoy watching sports, I have never played them (I danced competitively until college) • Dream Job: A zoologist |

|
| Elyse Appelblatt, Vice President of Communications • Hometown: Manalapan, NJ • Major: Sport Communication • Why did you join SAB: Athletics played a huge role in my decision to attend IU, so I wanted every opportunity to be around them. • Favorite SAB memory: My favorite memory was during the watch party we hosted in Assembly Hall this year when we clinched the Big 10 title. There are no words to describe how great it was standing with our arms around each other and singing “We are the Champions.” • Favorite Athlete: Femi Hollinger-Janzen |
|

A close second would be the Iowa Watch Party. • Advice you’d give for people considering joining SAB: Do it! Joining SAB is one of the best decisions I have made since coming to IU. The people are awesome and working behind the scenes to promote our athletics allows you to appreciate and enjoy our programs on a much larger scale. • Things people don’t know about SAB: We do more than just cheer on the teams. We also get involved with projects that benefit the community and host social events for members to have fun and get to know each other. • Dream Job: Astronaut |

| Bryn Birchler • Hometown: Plymouth, Mich. • Major: Business Management • Why did you join SAB: I’ve always had a passion for sports so when I heard there was a student organization all about IU Athletics, I knew I had to join! • Favorite SAB memory: Last December we had an ice skating party to wrap up the semester. As someone who played ice hockey for 14 years, it was very entertaining to watch everyone try to skate. I had a lot of fun bonding with many members I hadn’t spent much time with previously. • Favorite Indiana University Sport: Men’s soccer (mostly because I love the CRABB Band) • Advice you’d give for people considering joining SAB: If you’re thinking of joining SAB, you should definitely go for it and go all in! My favorite thing about SAB is the relationships I’ve made with other members so don’t be afraid to talk to people. • Dream Job: Naturally, I took a Buzzfeed quiz for this and got “professional puppy sitter” which is pretty accurate so I’ll go with that. • If you were stuck on an island who from SAB would you trust to rescue you: I would trust John Fannin to save me from an island because I know he used to dive in high school and also let’s be real, what can John NOT do? And he would also take some awesome pictures to put on his Instagram later. |
