Hep's Rock

The Walk & Gameday Rally
High-five the Hoosier football team as they arrive at Memorial Stadium for gameday and another IU victory! Get fired up for the game while watching the accompanying game-day rally, on the west steps of Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, led by the Marching Hundred, IU Cheerleaders and RedSteppers. The Walk and Gameday Rally take place on the steps and walkway between Memorial Stadium and the basketball arena (eastside of the football stadium). The rally and The Walk begin approximately two and half hours prior to kickoff.
History
What used to be called, “The Rock” was installed onto Memorial Stadium's north endzone back in 2005 while Head Coach Terry Hoeppner was leading the charge for Indiana Football. The limestone boulder was a vital piece of the team's runout for nearly two decades before being moved outside of the east entrance of Memorial Stadium. In 2010, “The Rock” was renamed to “Hep's Rock”, commemorating Coach Hoeppner.
