Four year letterwinner in baseball for coaches Mike Weaterly and Jason Ladd at Howell High School…team was four time district champions and won the 2016 conference title…hit .445 his senior season with five home runs and 38 RBI…hit 15 career home runs with 106 RBI and 50 stolen bases…two-time team captain…three time all-conference selection…also earned all-region honors and was named to the All-State Dream Team his senior season…four-time scholar athlete award winner…owns the school record for career hits…superb in the pool as well at Howell, being a four-time state finalist in swimming and diving…was an all-state diver his junior and senior year, and was the team’s MVP all four years…named Howell’s 2017 Athlete of the Year…parents are Steve and Stephanie Balgaard…has three older brothers, Nick, David and Ben…plans on majoring in sports management and marketing at Indiana.
