2025 (Sophomore Season)
Awards: Academic All-Big Ten selection.

Season: Played in 36 games with 29 starts – all at catcher … started the most games (29) behind the dish on the team … hit .250 during his sophomore campaign with 22 hits, 15 runs scored and 17 RBIs … provided his first two career home runs – one of 15 player to hit a long ball on the season … threw out 11 runners trying to steal … fielded at a .987 clip with just three errors in over 220 chances … had six multi-hit games and five multi-RBI outings … made season debut as defensive replacement against Xavier (2/15) … first start of the season came vs. No. 7 Oregon State (2/16) … recorded first career hit – in walk off fashion – as pinch hitter against Northwestern (2/24) … hit the first home run of his career against Penn State (3/7) … provided three separate three-RBI efforts against Mount St. Mary’s (2/28), Northern Kentucky (3/4) and Abilene Christian (5/4) … had clutch home run and the eventual game-winning hit to secure series sweep at Abilene Christian (5/4) … had a hit in his final start of the campaign at Michigan (5/17).

Season: Played in 19 games with two starts behind the plate … finished the season as the reserve catcher following a pair of injuries … made his collegiate debut as a replacement catcher against Alabama at the Frisco Classic (3/1) … got his first career start in a midweek contest vs. Evansville (4/16) … caught all 12 innings in a midweek tie with Ball State (4/24) … recorded 16 at-bats on the season but had zero hits … walked three times and scored three wins in debut season.

Played two seasons of high school baseball for head coach Chris Malec at Anitoch Community High School in Illinois … COVID-19 canceled his freshman season while he elected to play travel ball only during his sophomore campaign … named the 2023 Conference Player of the Year and Daily Herald Player of the Year … hit .417 with 40 hits, 12 doubles, 25 runs batted in and three home runs during his senior season … compiled a 4-1 record with a 2.27 earned run average and 64 strikeouts on the mound in 2023 … ranked as the No. 22 overall prospect and No. 4 catcher in the state of Illinois by Perfect Game … played travel ball for Hitters Baseball … appeared twice at the Area Code Games … son of Doug and Gina Schuyler … has a sister, Claire … intends to major in Sports Marketing and Management at IU … full name is Thomas Schuyler but goes by TJ.
