Played in 20 games for the Bulldogs, averaging 1.3 points and 1.8 rebounds per game...pulled down 35 rebounds in 109 minutes of play...averaged 5.5 minutes per game...shot 52 percent from the field...had a season-high six points twice (Nov. 10 vs. Kennesaw State and Dec. 21 vs. Western Illinois)...added a career-best eight rebounds in the win over Western Illinois...had seven rebounds against Youngstown State Dec. 9 and five rebounds in the win over Furman Nov. 18...played double-digit minutes in four games, led by 18 in the win over Western Illinois...had a block against both Saint Louis and Villanova.
2016-17 (Freshman at Butler)
NCAA awarded a hardship waiver so the season would count as a redshirt season as Brunk and his family were dealing with his father's cancer diagnosis (Joe Brunk passed away in April of 2017)...appeared in seven games (all within the first 10 games of the season)...practiced with the team throughout the season...had season-bests of 10 points and four rebounds (on 3-of-3 shooting and 4-of-5 from the free throw line) in 18 minutes in the win over Norfolk State, 11/21/16...had six points each in the season-opener against Northern Colorado, 11/12/16, and the 11/19/16 win over Bucknell...played a total of 49 minutes on the season.
