PREP: Owns cross country school record for best time (15:25) and set records in both the sectional and regional meets, coming the individual title in both of those races ... was a two-time cross country team MVP and IHSAA Sportsmanship Representative ... in 2010, was a 3,200m sectional champion in track ... clocked his best time in the 1,600m at 4:24 ... helped lead McCutcheon to a third place finish in the 2008 IHSAA state meet ... lettered all four years in both cross country and track.
PERSONAL: Born June 16, 1992 ... biochemistry major ... son of Patrick Welsh and Sheila Welsh.
Coach Helmer: "Morgan ran some very solid track times when he was young and had an outstanding senior year state cross country meet. As with similar individuals the ability to sustain a good solid level of consistent training will open the door to much, much more.
