• Danny Friend is in his second season at Indiana as a quality control coach.
• Returned to Bloomington after one year as an offensive line coach at Minot State University (2021).
• Served as an offensive graduate assistant at IU from 2018-20.
• Played in 38 career games as an offensive lineman (2017) and tight end (2013-16) for the Hoosiers. Made 10 catches for 104 yards and two touchdowns
• Earned the team’s 2017 Ted Verlihay “Mental Attitude” Award and was IU’s 2017 Big Ten Sportsmanship Award honoree.
• Member of the 2015 New Era Pinstripe Bowl and the 2016 Foster Farms Bowl.
• A native of Morris, Illinois, Friend graduated from Morris Community High School.
• Earned his exercise science degree from Indiana in May 2017.
