Sykes graduated with a SPEA management degree in May 2018. He posted 49 tackles, 37 solo, eight sacks (69 yards), 10.5 for loss (79 yards), three fumble recoveries, three pass breakups and three quarterback hurries in 37 games (7 starts).

2018 (Senior): Started six games and played in all 12 at end ... carded 26 tackles, 15 solo, with three sacks (32 yards), 3.5 for loss (32 yards), two fumble recoveries, three quarterback hurries and one pass breakup ... shared the team lead, third in the Big Ten and 24th nationally with the two recoveries ... tied for the top spot with three QBHs ... finished second with the three sacks ... recovered one fumble in the season-opening win at Florida International (9/1) ... recorded one sack and one hurry against No. 24 Michigan State (9/22) ... netted a career-high four stops with one sack at No. 3 Ohio State (10/6) ... posted a career-high four solos against No. 18 Penn State (10/20) ... made one fumble recovery and one QBH in the Maryland win (11/10) ... closed out the year with one sack and three tackles against Purdue (11/24).

2017 (Junior): Suffered a season-ending injury in the offseason.

2016 (Sophomore): Played in all 13 games and made his first career start in the Purdue win at end ... collected 18 solo tackles, five sacks (37 yards), seven tackles for loss (47 yards), one fumble recovery and two pass breakups ... finished second on the team in sacks and fourth in TFLs ... posted career-highs in stops (4), sacks (2) and tackles for loss (3) at Northwestern (10/22) ... made three tackles, two for loss, with one sack against No. 10 Penn State (11/12) ... recovered the first fumble of his career in the victory over No. 17 Michigan State (10/1) ... tallied one sack and one PBU in the season-opening win at Florida International (9/1) ... added one sack in the Foster Farms Bowl vs. No. 19 Utah (12/28) ... IU defensive player of the week (Northwestern).

2015 (Freshman): Appeared in 11 games, primarily on special teams ... made five tackles, including two in the season-opening Southern Illinois win (9/5).

2014: Redshirted the 2014 season ... two-time scout team player of the week (Missouri, Purdue).
