Chaz LaPoint enters his first season as a graduate assistant for the defensive line under first-year head coach Curt Cignetti.

LaPoint spent the last two seasons at James Madison (2022-23) as a graduate assistant. I his two seasons with the Dukes he worked primarily with the linebackers.

He began his coaching career with three seasons at his alma mater, Missouri (2019-21), where he was a student assistant. He assisted with the Tigers’ defensive line for two seasons and helped with the cornerbacks his final year.

While in Columbia, he was part of two different coaching schemes and was a defensive signal caller on game days in his final season with the program.

LaPoint owns a bachelor’s degree in parks, recreation, sport and tourism from Mizzou (2022).
