Lou Watson spent six seasons with the Hoosiers. From 1966-1971 he coached the Hoosiers to a 62-60 overall record and a 31-39 Big Ten Conference mark. Watson, in 1970, coached an IU legend who only spent one season as a Hoosier. George McGinnis led the Big Ten in scoring (29.9 ppg) and rebounding (14.5 rpg). His 29.9 points per game average is still the highest single-season average in the history of Indiana basketball.
