Ernie Clark

Ernie Clark begins his first year with Indiana track and field as a volunteer assistant coach.
Clark brings over 14 years of coaching experience at the high school and college level. Clark has coached one USATF Jr. National Qualifier, one New Balance All-American, one IHSAA State Champion and 19 IHSAA individual state medalists.
Clark has also coached 65 individual state qualifiers and coached Bloomington High School North to a sixth-place team finish at the 2010 IHSAA State Championships. In two stops as the head coach for Bloomington High School North, most recently the last two years, Clark has coached athletes that have broken 27 school records in their respective events. His success was recognized by being honored as the Conference Indiana Boys' Coach of the Year in 2014.
Since 2009, Clark has been the hurdle coach for the Indiana Track Club in Bloomington, Ind., and has also coached at the college level as an assistant coach for jumps at his alma mater, the University of Indianapolis.
Clark has undergone training at the USTFCCCA Track and Field Academy in Houston, Texas and has USATF Level I certification.
Clark is a graduate of the University of Indianapolis, as he earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Art Education in 2000. Clark also earned a Master of Arts degree in Digital Photography from the Savannah College of Art of Design in 2010.
As an athlete Clark was the Great Lakes Valley Freshman of the Year in 1997 and a Div. II NCAA Track and Field Provisional Qualifier for the 400m Hurdles in 1999 and 2000. Clark was a team captain and earned the Mental Attitude Award at the University of Indianapolis.
