GRADUATE STUDENT at INDIANA (2017): Played in seven matches and eight sets for the Hoosiers in the 2017 season…one kill against Purdue on Sept. 30…three blocks for the season…was a key part of helping middle blocks Deyshia Lofton and Hayden Huybers this season.
AT FORDHAM: In her senior season at Fordham, Ostach, the team captain, appeared in 27 of 29 matches and finished third on the team in kills with 138…Her .257 hitting percentage was the best on the team…Ostach led the team with 11 solo blocks and finished second on the team with 56 total blocks… After having her sophomore season cut short after the opening match, due to injury, Ostach registered a combined 272 kills and 105 blocks in the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
PREP: A three-year student athlete at Blackhawk who missed her senior season due to injury... Led Blackhawk to two Section Titles and helped take the team to the WPIAL Semifinals... A two-time PIAA WPIAL All-Section First Team All-Star in 2010 and 2011, Ostach was also named All-District Second Team as a junior and All-District Third Team as a sophomore... Ostach registered a number of school records while at Blackhawk, including the most assisted blocks, solo blocks and total blocks in a season... She also holds the single season school record for kill percentage (.441) and recorded perfect kill percentages and hitting percentages in a single match... In terms of single match records, Ostach also holds the school record for assisted blocks, solo blocks and total blocks... Selected to play for the Pittsburgh Renaissance Junior Olympic Volleyball Team and qualified to participate in the Junior Olympic National Tournament in Reno, Nev.
PERSONAL: Daughter of Carl and Robin Ostach…Kristen was born on May 11, 1995…has one brother, Cory…undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Fordham and will pursue a master’s degree through the Kelley School of Business in Strategic Management.
