Posted an average of 71.18 this season, which was on track to become the lowest season average for a Hoosier in program history … had two events with a three-round total of 209, tied for the second-best in IU history … came in at No. 20 the international list for the Arnold Palmer Cup rankings in the fall … opened the season by carding a 7-under-par 209 (71-68-70) to finish T2 at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational … earned her first Big Ten Golfer of the Week accolade for her performance … carded an even-144 in the two stroke rounds of the East-West Match Play event to finish T7 … came in at T38 in the Illini Invite at Medinah with a total of 221 (76-76-70) … earned her first career tournament title at the Landfall Tradition to end the fall season … she carded a 7-under-par 209 (69-72-68), matching her season low round of 68 … earned another Big Ten Golfer of the Week honor following the win … missed the start to spring season due to injury

Closed with a score of 217 (74-72-71) to tie for 21st at the Westbrook Invitaitonal ... Her play at Briar's Creek Invitational gave her a tie for 61st with a score of 230 (82-76-72)... Posted a score of 146 (72-74) to tie for 41st at the Clemson Invitational... Finished in 3rd place with a score of 143 (71-72) at Lady Boilermaker Classic... At Big Ten Women's Golf Championship, her score of 158 (85-73) put her in 75th place ... at the NCAA East Lansing Regional, she finished tied for 27th with a score of 222 (73-74-75) ... at the NCAA Championship, she tied for 79th with a score of 236 (80-79-77).

2017-18 (Freshman)
Played in all nine stroke tournaments, holding a 74.16 stroke average … came in on top of IU’s leaderboard in four tournaments including the Big Ten Tournament … opened up her career with a pair of 71s to finish T34th overall at the Coeur D’Alene Invitational … turned in her first top 10 finish with a T6th performance by shooting 4-over at the Ladies Fall Intercollegiate Invitational (76-72; 148) … went under par in all three rounds for a 5-under performance at the Westbrook Invitational to finish T9th (71-71-69; 211) … came in on top of IU’s leaderboard at the Hawkeye El Tigre in Mexico where she finish T15th shooting 8-over (72-75-77; 224) … went 1-under at the Clemson Invitational including a season-low and tied for seventh-best led IU at the Big Ten Championships at TPC River’s Bend where she finished even par in T15th (75-70-71; 216) … was part of a three-person freshman class that ranked No. 3 overall in 2017-18 according to GolfStat.

Schmid, a native of Uruguay and holds dual citizenship in Switzerland, comes to Bloomington from IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida … competed for her home country in the in the South American Championship for three years (2012, 2014, 2015), and the South American Championship U18 from 2012-15 … played for Uruguay in the Pan Am Games and on the World Amateur team in 2015 … in 2016-17, earned individual medalist honors at the Tampa Bay Junior Shootout (76-75), the Greater Richmond Classic (76-75), Orange Lake Resort (72-72) and the Innerschweizer Amateur Meisterschaft (78-73-73) … also posted four other top 10 finishes and holds an average of 74.5 ... born Oct. 1… daughter of Carla Fabini and Gregor Schmid… holds dual citizenship in Uruguay and Switzerland ... majoring in Tourism, Hospitality & Event Management.
